It's good to know which cruise lines allow pets to travel onboard their ships. Not all cruise lines will allow pets, but there are some that do. What are the reasons for pets not being allowed on cruise ships? Here are the two main reasons:
Please also keep in mind that if your cruise line does allow you to travel with your pet, you will not be with your pet all the time. Chances are that you will have to let your pet sleep in a designated pet area and not in your cabin. There will be visiting hours in the kennels and they are not free to roam as they are at home. Be sure to ask where the kennels are located and if they are not exposed to the elements. Another thing to note is that dining with your pet is not an option onboard a cruise ship. Also, the surroundings of the cruise ship and all of its passengers may be a little unnerving for your pet, even if they are usually mild-mannered. The unfamiliarity may frighten them.
Traveling with your pet on a cruise will be an additional cost on top of your cruise fare. Be sure to ask one of our Cruise Specialists to find out how much it costs and what it includes.
